You all are demonstrable, painful stick up the intellectual butt dickheads

A new comment on the post "Force X from outer space"

You all are demonstrable, painful stick up the intellectual butt dickheads. Alas, now Goddard and Nova offers you such piled higher and deeper stinking bullshit that it's a veritable feast for any establishment group/thinker. I'm so sorry that the world carries on anyways, with no real court of public opinion. But you alarmists in particular are just as gross and freakish as Mr. Goddard. You are too wound up. Stop projecting weirdo hatred upon us boringly normal folk who love the majesty and mystery of Science. Life isn't really some paper form you get to fill out, with your fountain pen spewing splatters of righteous intent upon the page. You guys are just weirdos. Period.

JoNova: Climate Rage: We absolutely cannot have… a rational conversation!

Climate Rage: We absolutely cannot have… a rational conversation! (cite) is wildly ironic, all the more so because not one of them can see it. Time for my current-favourite image I think. There's a webcite around, I think.

JoNova

JoNova: Green climate pornography — cheer for the deaths of the heretics! (cite)

Well, this is a little sad: my comments at JoNova are now dropping into moderation instead of just appearing. Looks like I'm becoming dangerous there, too.

(turned out to be a temporary blip, or fright, or whatever. We're all lovely again, now)

WUWT: Why Climate Change Doesn’t Scare Me

Why Climate Change Doesn’t Scare Me (cite). Guest essay by Walter Starck at WUWT, the usual kind of fluff, and as usual I'll add my comments there, to here.

(in which AW does finally admit that I'm banned from WUWT)

NTZ: Global Warming STOP Older Than 1997 Kyoto Protocol…Soon Only Old Folks Will Remember What Warming Is

Global Warming STOP Older Than 1997 Kyoto Protocol…Soon Only Old Folks Will Remember What Warming Is (cite).

The usual stuff. But it poses a challenge:

Earth to Warmworld. Earth to Warmworld…do you read me? Come in, please. Is anyone out there?

Happily, I was there, and left a reply:

Hello. Will http://tamino.wordpress.com/2014/02/25/by-request/ do?

This text was dangerous! I'm fairly sure Tamino will be happy to know that :-). It was censored and replaced with:

[snip, Foster is an 'undesirable' who cannot be trusted with statistics]
Ho ho ho.

Outer space: Rowing has its moments

Outer space: Rowing has its moments.

I left a comment there, but the post is old so it may never appear. I said:

> The standard rig produces a non-zero sideways moment that alternates between $-4Fr$ and $+4Fr$ during each stroke. The cox is going to have to work hard to counter that wiggle

I don't think so. Because the net force over a stroke is zero, the cox can just ignore it, and it will even out.

The other problem here is that your analysis is non-quantitative: to know whether this is worth worrying about, you'd need to know how large this moment is compared to the natural variation, stroke to stroke, that people produce anyway.

WUWT: EPA’s New Proposed Regulations to Restrict Emissions from Existing Fossil Fuel-Based Electric Generation

Still tracking censorship at WUWT.

Post is http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/06/03/epas-new-proposed-regulations-to-restrict-emissions-from-existing-fossil-fuel-based-electric-generation/(cite).

My comment that didn't appear is below. Note that I've included a bit of context fore and aft so you can tell where it should have appeared.
